Description
This highly motivated and positive individual assists with the treatment all aspects of general dentistry, including preventive care, restorative care, root canals, crowns, dentures, etc.

  • Collaborate with hygienists to create comprehensive treatment plans for excellent patient care.
  • Provide superb patient centric experience.
  • Take both alginate and digital impressions as required.
  • Maintain patient dental records; update all medical records as necessary.
  • Take all reasonable methods to ensure patient comfort.
  • Provide dental health education about tooth care and diet.
  • Carry out screening and monitoring procedures.
  • Ensure that sterile conditions are maintained.
  • Clean and sterilize all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session.
  • Use a range of different dental instruments.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines in all aspects, including when taking X-rays, handling mercury, disposing of sharp and clinical waste, resuscitation, and emergency procedures.
  • Offer advice and encouragement to patients.
  • Follow all practice policies and procedures.
  • Obey all dental ethical guidelines, including all rules on confidentiality and data protection.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry
  • Practicing for one to two years at minimum.
  • Experience using computers.
  • Must be a people person with a great attitude and attention to detail.
  • Registered in the State of New York.

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training and experience with Invisalign® treatment.
  • Training and experience with placement of implants.
  • Experience with OpenDental software.

Description
This highly motivated and positive individual works under the dentist’s supervision to prepare patients for oral examination and assists in providing treatment to the teeth, mouth and gums. The dental assistant will also be
trained to perform more sophisticated functions, such as removing sutures, processing X-rays and taking oral impressions.

Key Tasks:

  • Assist the dentist in all dental procedures.
  • Prepare patients for treatment.
  • Hand instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients’ mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices.
  • Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, replenishing as needed.
  • Prepare materials for making impressions and restorations.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
  • Obtain dental history and/or records from patient and ensure that the health history is updated for all returning patients.
  • Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral healthcare.
  • Record patient charting and all doctor notes as directed by the doctor.
  • Escort patient to/from the front desk and introduce them to the continuing care clerk.
  • Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policy.

Dental Assistant Training & Education Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • A degree or certificate in dental assisting
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge

Description
This highly motivated and positive individual assists in the prevention and treatment of oral disease, focusing on periodontal health by monitoring oral hygiene practices and assisting the patient to develop a home care plan to
maintain their oral health. Hygienists also can give specific advice on prevention, nutrition, use of fluoride and smoking cessation.

Key Tasks:

  • Set up and prepare surgery before the start of each session when working without an assistant.
  • Provide dental health education about tooth care and diet.
  • Remove plaque and calculus by scaling and polishing teeth.
  • Take impressions and/or dental radiographs of teeth as required.
  • Apply prophylactic/antibacterial materials, fissure sealants and topical fluorides to help prevent tooth decay.
  • Carry out screening and monitoring procedures.
  • Treat and help prevent gingivitis and periodontitis.
  • Ensure that sterile conditions are maintained.
  • Clean and sterilize all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session.
  • Use a range of different dental instruments.
  • Maintain patient dental records; update all medical records as necessary.
  • Take all reasonable methods to ensure patient comfort.
  • Report equipment failures or breakages to the principle or practice manager so that action may be taken to remedy any defects.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines in all aspects, including when taking X-rays, handling mercury, disposing of sharp and clinical waste, resuscitation, emergency procedures, and fire drills.
  • Offer advice and encouragement to patients.
  • Follow all practice policies and procedures.
  • Obey all dental ethical guidelines, including all rules on confidentiality and data protection.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A two-year diploma in dental hygiene or three-year oral health science degree
  • Experience using computers and MS Office experience working in surgery
  • Must be a people person with a great attitude and attention to detail
  • Any extra courses taken relevant to dentistry
  • Registered hygienist

  • Conduct reminder calls to all patients.
  • Greet and direct patients.
  • Register patients by verifying that patient’s record is up to date and accurate.
  • Make appropriate changes in computer system and on patient’s chart.
  • Verify insurance coverage for planned treatment.
  • Solicit referrals from patients.
  • Collect payment from patients and reconcile daily cash report.

Requirements

  • One to two years dental front office experience

Description
The primary responsibility of this highly motivated and positive individual is to consult with patients and answer questions related to planning treatment and payment options while focusing on obtaining a high percentage of
treatment acceptance from patients. The treatment coordinator ensures that each patient receives a great experience and understands fully the treatment diagnosed by the doctor.

Key Tasks:

  • Educate and discuss the treatment plan with the patient after diagnosed and reviewed by the clinical staff.
  • Present treatment plans and give estimates of treatment costs in an effective manner.
  • Track all outstanding treatment plans.
  • Explain, promote and adhere to company payment policies and procedures.
  • Submit, track and follow up on prior authorizations.
  • Obtain high treatment acceptance by explaining cost of treatment, insurance coverage and finance options.
  • Solicit referrals from patients postoperatively while at the same time tracking patient satisfaction with work provided.
  • Contact patients the day prior to the day of the appointment regarding fees due and to confirm the appointment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of treatment plan presentations
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of three years of work experience is recommended
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Good communication skills
