In order to better serve our patients, Dr. Matthew Scaffa and our team utilize modern dental technology in our Staten Island, New York, office. Our technology allows us to work with greater efficiency and provide more comfort for the patient.

Kodak 9000 Extraoral Imaging System

This state of the art imaging system delivers an unprecedented level of detail, allowing Dr. Matthew Scaffa to take panoramic/3D imaging of your entire mouth. This panoramic system will scan both your upper and lower jaws at once rather than the traditional equipment that requires multiple digital X-rays.

Digital Impressions + ISO Technologies — TS150® Mill

At Dental Arts Center, we have technology that allows our team to take impressions digitally rather than with the traditional putty impression material. This relatively new technology allows Dr. Matthew Scaffa to create a virtual, computer-generated replica of the hard and soft tissues in the mouth using lasers and other optical scanning devices. The digital technology captures clear and highly accurate impression data in mere minutes without the need for traditional impression materials that some patients find inconvenient and messy.

By using digital impressions, our dentist can then leverage the TS150® mill to provide a quick turnaround, making it nearly same-day dentistry, for the manufacture of crowns, bridges and veneers.

VELscope® — VELscope V1

The VELscope® device emits a harmless, bright blue light that is used to inspect the mouth and tongue. This device helps Dr. Matthew Scaffa detect abnormal oral tissue such as potential cancerous or pre-cancerous tissues that are not apparent or sometimes not even visible with the naked eye alone. By detecting oral cancer and other problems early, our dentist can ensure that treatment begins when the disease is in the earliest stages of development and is more likely to be treated successfully.

PreNew PreView®

The PreNew PreView® tool can provide a realistic and natural-looking example of what your teeth may look like after treatment. A mold of what your teeth will look like after treatment is created so that:

  • You can help us perfect your final smile aesthetic by providing feedback before you start treatment.
  • The process is relatively quick and effortless.
  • You can get a realistic demonstration of how your new teeth may look in real life.
  • You can help with the decision-making process and be reassured that the treatment can be effective.
